Interested in radio? Come join WTRT-TV and WHCJ 90.3 FM as we host Friends of Georgia Radio to discuss opportunities for students in radio. Mentorships and internships will be the subject of conversation. Join us on Tuesday, March 26 in Whiting Hall Room 110A (JMC TV Studios) at 3 p.m. to discuss everything radio and how you can start your radio career.

Coming Fall 2024 is the Investigative Journalism Class with Nikole Hannah-Jones at SSU. This class is open for all Mass Communications majors and minors who are juniors and seniors. Since this is a lifetime opportunity, sophomores will be accepted on a case-by-case basis based on journalism writing knowledge. This course will also have a local professional journalist coach. This course is being sponsored by the Center of Journalism and Democracy at Howard University. Other participating universities include Morehouse College, Howard University, Texas Southern University, University of the District of Colombia, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, and North Carolina Central University.

Olivia Carter, Graduating Senior, becomes a News Producer at WJCL 22 News

Olivia Carter , senior at Savannah State University and president of The National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) SSU Chapter, is now a news producer at WJCL 22. Carter is majoring in journalism and mass communications will graduate in May 2024. Last year, Olivia was an intern in the WJCL 22 News department where she learned the ins and outs of how a news operation functioned. She has extensive experience with news content creation, social media, and media relations.
